Matt’s first job out of law school was to be the in-house counsel for a specialty practice undergoing a multi-million dollar fraud investigation with criminal and civil penalties. After guiding that organization he went on to in-house positions in the alcohol and drug rehab space and large multi-clinic organizations. Having seen how these organizations treat their providers, Matt created Provider Legal to advocate for employed health providers, small offices and solo practitioners. Matt intimately understands what they are up against and how important their role is in our health system. Matt’s favourite compliment from clients is that he doesn’t seem like a lawyer, but a real person. He enjoys sci-fi movies, reading historical fiction and is an Australian gin aficionado.

Gary Bird is a compulsive entrepreneur and passionate marketer who fosters a people-first culture within his team. As the founder and leader of SMC National Inc., a dental marketing agency, he employs a data-driven approach to help clients grow. In addition to partnering with clients for maximum growth, he offers free Mastermind classes and a Facebook group to support others in the dental industry as well as entrepreneurs in general. Gary also hosts the #1-rated marketing podcast, Dental Marketing Theory. He is also a veteran conference speaker. In his free time, he serves in several ministries at his local church and contributes to global charitable efforts.

Jonathan Moffat
At a young age and after watching his Orthodontist grandfather struggle financially Jonathan realized he had a passion to help dentists avoid the same mistakes and struggles he saw his grandfather make. In 2006 Jonathan completed the Personal Financial Planning Program at UC Irvine. In 2008, he completed the Investment and Retirement Strategies Program at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Jonathan was the creator and co-host of one of the first Dental Specific podcasts Dental Doc Talk Radio with Dr. Michael Abernathy. In 2012 Jonathan founded the company Aligned Advisors with one purpose to help dentists to step away from the chair by creating more time and money freedom in their lives. In collaboration with the bestselling author Harry Dent, Jonathan authored the well referenced white paper “The Future of Dentistry” and has been published in Orthodontic Products and Dentistry Today. He was the co-author of the book “Rich doc, Poor doc” and was a contributing author to “The Road to Success” by Dr. Michael Abernathy, DDS. In 2016 Jonathan was asked by one of his clients to help start and run a Dental Services Organization and in October of 2016 he and his partner purchased their first dental office. By Jan 2019 they had acquired a total of 8 offices and had a successful and profitable dental group. “Going through the process of building Launch Dental from 1 to 8 practices in just over 3 years I learned a lot and made a lot of mistakes along the way. That experience has helped me be a better advisor to my clients and helped me to be in a better position to give back to the dental community.” In 2017 Jonathan started to serve as faculty on Henry Schein’s Dental Business Institute where he had the opportunity to help hundreds of Dentists work on and finalize their business plans for their practices and group practices.
